Why we do the things we know we shouldn’t do?

Yeah, I know that title sounds weird, but if you think about it, it makes sense. How many times do you make the same mistakes? Exactly, have you ever wondered why we do it?

We say to ourselves, I will never eat hot-sauce ever again and the next day, we say “Today is the last day”; then we feel horrible after we do it. We say to ourselves, I will never go back with my ex, just to find yourself calling them when you feel lonely.

I have an idea of why we do the things we know we shouldn’t do? Because we love the thrill, we love variety, we love security, we love certainty, in short, we love to do what we want, not what we must. We have to learn to think a little more logically because our emotions are based on stories we have made up, stories that sometimes are bad for us. We need to learn to think taking notes with our books instead of our hearts. Yes, we must do what we want but we also need to be more logical if we want to create the life we want. I also believe we need to do what we want sometimes because we need the thrill, the excitement and just the little things that makes us TICK.

All my life, I wished for things and got them. Once I had what I wanted, I wanted something else. Without reading a book I found out that human beings always want more, and that is not bad at all. If human beings did not have this desire of wanting more, we would have never achieved all the wonderful things we have in 200 years.

All the best to you!
