It is what it is, my father used to say all the time when he could not find an explanation to my questions. You see, I was a kid with 10 questions a minute. Nobody was able to keep up with my questions, so I had to find answers for myself and when I could not find an answer, I used my father’s saying “It is what it is”.
Now an adult, that answer my father gave me makes a lot of sense for things that really don’t have an answer to, or maybe they just don’t need it.
Are there 24 hours in a day he asks? He answers “It is what it is”. Do you really want to waste time pondering at such an obvious answer?
The reality is that most things have some type of answer, but it if you really think about it, the answer really depends on the person giving it. Yes some answers are more general but we are unique and see things slightly or very different from other people.
For example…..
My aunt was born Blind! It is what it is? Well yes and no. My aunt was born blind because something went wrong in her birth or maybe it was faith? What do you think?
You see, the meaning of things really matter in the eyes of those people looking at it. Our world is controlled by what we think, don’t believe me? Have you ever thought you were 100% right until somebody proved you wrong? Exactly 🙂
Final notes!
Sometimes un-explained things can be answered with a simple “It is what it is”; but sometimes they can’t, so…. it’s really your thinking that makes your reality.

I always have lost of questions about programming stuff because I am a beginner so I’m still a ‘child”. These questions that I do to myself make me waste a lot of energy sometimes. Should I say to myself it’s what’s it is more often?
Hi Francisco, when it comes to programming, you can’t say “It is What it is” because all issues in programming can be solve but in life there are many mysteries that can’t even be explained.
