What an interesting year this has been, right guys? 

For some…. it has been horrible

For some …. the best year

For some …. the same

Career advise – technology ——

There are a bunch of new things coming out all the time and things that came out in 2019.

PHP 7 – faster preprocessing and some new features that don’t affect my courses since all you have to do is upgrade your PHP environment and your applications should work without problems.

Laravel for beginners course – I will make some sections, some marked something like (versions 5.2 to 5.4) and others (versions 6 and up), sorry about the delay …..

Advice – Try to focus more on the CORE language than in using too many frameworks. If you use frameworks try to practice your CORE syntax because is super easy to become a regular user rather than a developer.

Don’t follow the crowd with technology and focus on creating applications the easiest way possible with the least amount of technology. Of course, you want to use updated tools and updated APIs.

Build a portfolio online

Try to make a simple website to showcase your apps. Work hard on always making your apps work better. Try adding new features all the time you can.

If you are looking for a job

I know many of you got jobs on 2019 as developers, thanks for letting me know and giving me some of those credits, but you deserve it, congrats : ) 

When I first started this journey, I went crazy on submitting resumes, and building apps, and submitting bids on web app projects on freelancer or any similar sites. Some of these jobs I did free to get reviews and then my real jobs came in.

The trick is consistency and repetition, you don’t need to be a genius to do this and make it work. Just work hard every day on being consistent with your thing and you will do good.

MOTIVATION ——-

We need to shoot for the stars or don’t

The truth is that human beings need to grow one way or the other, if not then part of ourselves die. You don’t need to become a millionaire or make thousands of dollars to be happy.

Some of us are happy and content where we are, idled not moving much and just letting life pass us by without doing much of anything, and if that is you, and you are happy; then it is ok.

BUT some of us strive for more, we try every single day to be the best we can be. We can’t stay still and let others do the work, we need to get moving, right? goooooo

We can’t give up

Yes, things happen that are out of our control, I know :(.

I got sick for a whole entire year and was not able to do anything…… but I could have been sick for longer and could have given up, but I did not, I kept fighting all the way and got healthy again and that is exactly what each of us should do.

Keep doing it until it’s done! Keep coding until it works. Keep submitting resumes until you get hired. Keep submitting bids until you get one job or more.

Happiness

Happiness is inside all of us, we don’t need others to make us happy. We produce happiness with our thoughts and then we share it. When you let events or people dictate your happiness then you have no control and will never get the results you want.

It took me some time to realize that, and I hope you can realize it as well.

How did I find out? I asked myself…..

What is so great about my life right now? at first, it took some time to come up with things because I was sad at that time but then after the first answer, many came.

I feel good because ….

1. I was alive

2. I could use my hands

3. I could walk

4. I could think

5. I had a computer : ) 

6. I had food

7….. etc……….

Every day I wake up and I laugh because I am here on this earth and while I am here I will keep fighting the daily negative thoughts that sometimes crawl into our minds. It’s a daily battle that we must fight and win.

I laugh because life is a game that must learn how to play to win.

I laugh because it is NOT that hard and we complain for nothing.

I laugh because we make things more complicated than they are, and think too much instead of taking action.

LET’S MAKE THIS 2020 BETTER THAN THE ONES BEFORE 🙂
