Privacy Policy

Privacy, explained plainly.

This policy describes how EdwinDiaz.com handles information when you visit the website or choose to follow an external link.

Last updated:

Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to EdwinDiaz.com (the “site”). The site is Edwin Diaz’s personal website and is hosted using Cloudflare. It does not cover websites or services operated by other organizations.

Information handled when you visit

The site does not provide accounts, a Contact form, a newsletter, comments, or another way to submit information through the website. It does not maintain a visitor or customer database.

Like most websites, the hosting and security infrastructure processes ordinary technical information needed to deliver and protect the site. Depending on the request and Cloudflare’s systems, this may include an IP address, requested URL, request method, date and time, browser or device information, referring page, response status, and security or network diagnostics. Cloudflare may make limited request and invocation logs available to the site operator.

This technical information is used to:

  • deliver pages and assets;
  • maintain security and respond to abusive or malicious traffic;
  • diagnose errors and availability problems; and
  • operate and improve the site’s reliability.

The site uses Astro’s ClientRouter to make internal navigation feel seamless. When you follow an internal link, the browser may request the next page in the background and update the page and browser history without a full refresh. Those same-origin page requests can appear in ordinary server or security logs just like direct page loads.

The audited implementation does not use ClientRouter to create a user profile or track activity across other websites. It uses the browser’s History API for navigation state and does not use local storage, session storage, or IndexedDB.

Cookies and similar technologies

The site’s application code does not set analytics, advertising, or first-party marketing cookies. It does not include an analytics vendor, advertising pixel, or marketing tracker. Normal page-load testing at the date above did not return a Set-Cookie header.

Cloudflare may use strictly necessary cookies when an enabled security or traffic-management feature requires them. Those cookies are controlled by Cloudflare and may change with the services or security settings used. See Cloudflare’s cookie documentation for current details.

The Resources page contains a clearly identified affiliate link to Bluehost. Edwin Diaz may receive a commission if you follow that link and complete a qualifying transaction, at no additional cost to you. Merely loading the Resources page does not contact Bluehost or the affiliate destination.

If you choose to follow the affiliate link, you leave this site. Your browser contacts the affiliate-network destination and Bluehost, which may receive referral and request information and may use cookies or similar technologies to attribute a referral. Their handling of that information is governed by their own notices and choices. Bluehost is part of Newfold Digital; its current privacy information is available through the Newfold Privacy Center.

Other external links, including links to technical documentation, lead to independent websites. EdwinDiaz.com does not control their content, security, or privacy practices. Review the destination’s privacy terms before providing information there.

Service providers and disclosure

Cloudflare processes technical information to host, deliver, cache, secure, and observe the site. Cloudflare describes its processing of end-user traffic, customer logs, and network data in its Privacy Policy.

EdwinDiaz.com does not operate a data brokerage or sell a visitor list. Information may be disclosed when reasonably necessary to operate or secure the site, comply with applicable law or a valid legal request, protect rights and safety, or investigate misuse. Affiliate tracking that begins after you choose the Bluehost link is handled by the external parties described above.

Retention

The site has no application database containing visitor accounts or submissions. Technical logs are retained only as reasonably necessary for delivery, security, troubleshooting, and applicable legal needs. Retention can depend on the Cloudflare plan and configuration. At the date of this policy, Cloudflare documents Workers Logs retention of three days for Workers Free and seven days for Workers Paid, with a maximum of seven days. Cloudflare may retain other network or security information under its own policies.

If you send a privacy inquiry by email, the message, address, and related correspondence may be retained as reasonably necessary to answer the request, keep an appropriate record, protect the site, or meet legal obligations.

Security

The site uses a static architecture and Cloudflare’s delivery and security infrastructure, which reduces some common application risks. However, no website, network, or method of storage can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your privacy choices and rights

Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights concerning personal information, such as requesting access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or an appeal of a request decision. You may send a request using the privacy email below. Reasonable information may be requested to verify your identity and understand the request. Requests will be addressed as appropriate under applicable law.

Cloudflare, Bluehost, and other external sites may control information in their own systems. Requests concerning their independently controlled information should be directed to them through their privacy notices or request tools.

Children’s privacy

The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through accounts, forms, comments, or submissions. If you believe a child has provided personal information in a privacy email, contact the address below so the situation can be reviewed and appropriate action taken.

International processing

Cloudflare operates a global network, so technical information may be processed in locations outside your state, province, or country. External destinations may also process information in other jurisdictions. Their privacy notices describe their transfer and processing practices.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the site’s features, providers, or data practices change. The updated date at the top of this page will be revised when changes are published. Material new data collection should be reviewed before it is introduced and described here when applicable.
